Torrevieja Town
A bustling cosmopolitan town offering the widest range of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and entertainment facilities and can be suitably compared to the city of Alicante.
The city boasts a large boating marina, sports centre, arts centre, theatre, fantastic aqua park, an amazing flea market along the promenade selling jewellery and leather goods and a fun fair for children which opens in the early evening.

Shopping
Close to the apartment is the bustling Habaneras Mall which caters for your every shopping need. This contains every high street shop you might ever need including Zara, Carrefour Hypermarket, Lidl and Aldi Supermarkets. There is also a thirty lane bowling alley, six screen cinema and a range of cosmopolitan retaurants to suit every taste (open in Winter too).
Around Torrevieja
The fishing port and marina of Santa Pol has boat excursions to the island of Taberca and its underwater nature reserve. The old Spanish town of Guardamar is a 10 minute drive (or 20 minute excursion from the local bus station) and provides enough activities for an excellent day out, including:

Terra Mítica Theme Park
This is a wonderful theme park in Benidorm, just an hour and a half's drive away! It is perfect for all the family, and is based around ancient history. It has several parts to it: 'Greece', 'Iberia', 'Egypt', 'Rome' and 'The Islands'.
• SL coach trips operate from Torrevieja, so ask for details at the tourist office near the promenade on Plaza Ruiz de Capdepont.
• Buses usually leave on a Sunday and prices are €35 adult and €28 per child. This includes all travel AND entry fees.
• Discounts are often available if you buy your tickets from Habaneras shopping centre.

Aquatic Park
There is a fantastic water park, called Aquopolis in Benidorm about an hour's drive away. It is open from May until September, and has a range of flumes and slides. There is a cafe in side or you can bring sandwiches. It gets very busy in August so get there early!
Easter Fiestas in Torrevieja
March 15 (2013) - Good Friday/Viernes de Dolores
To celebrate the death of Jesus and the arrival of the Easter celebrations, there will be an evening musical performance.
March 17-25 - Holy Week/Semana Santa
There are many processions during this week to mark the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion and subsequent resurrection.
March 22 - Good Friday/Viernes Santo
Morning - a procession passing through many streets in Torrevieja to symbolise the announcement of Jesus' death.
Evening - a procession of 'The Holy Burial of Christ'.
March 24 - Easter Sunday/Pascua
There will be a Holy Mass taking place in the church.
